HVAC ENGINEERING FOR NON-ENGINEERS


The HVAC Engineering for Non-Engineers program is designed to provide students with a solid understanding of HVAC engineering concepts. This program provides students with an opportunity to learn alongside peers from similar backgrounds and knowledge base. 

 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This program is designed for non-engineers with approximately five years of experience who, as a part of their professional roles, need to communicate effectively with design engineers. Those who would benefit from the program are those involved with pre-construction meetings, change orders, value engineering, design-build projects, design-assist projects, and sales interviews and presentations.

 

BENEFITS

By participating in this program, students will learn how to:

  • Select the most cost-effective equipment, evaluate loads, and suggest value engineering alternatives. 
  • Identify how to minimize oversizing. 
  • Lay out systems based on Basis of Design concepts. 
  • Ask better questions and communicate effectively with engineers during the pre-construction processes.
  • Participate with an advantage in change order negotiations and interviews.

  • Dry Equipment: Fans, AHUs, DOAS, & Fan Coils
  • Pipe Sizing & Pump Head

  • Wet Equipment: Pump Types, Cooling Towers, Heat Exchangers, & Chillers

Tuition for the program for MCAWW member firms is $1,000.

MCAWW REFUND POLICY

  • Cancellation by attendee 14 or more days prior to the start date of an event or training program: 100% refund.
  • Cancellation by attendee 7-13 days prior to the start date of an event or training program: 50% refund.
  • No refund will be given for cancellations less than 7 days prior to the start date of an event or training program. If cancellation is due to illness or emergency, credit may be extended for a future event or training program. 
  • In the event that MCA of Western Washington cancels an event or training program, a full refund will be provided.

 

 

MCAWW educational programs are open to Western Washington Mechanical Contracting Industry Improvement Fund contributors.
